Hayley - Early Years Practitioner
Hayley has worked for the Playgroup since 1996. Hayley is an Early Years Practitioner and has completed a NVQ level 2 and 3 in Early Years Education and Childcare. As well as her work in the playgroup Hayley is a Leading Foundation Stage Practitioner visiting and supporting the development of other preschools in the North East of Hampshire.
This is Hayley’s story:
I have lived in Bordon for 23 years. I am married and I am a mother of two daughters who are young adults now, and this is how I started my career in childcare, both of my children attended this playgroup and I was asked if I would like to help out as a mother helper and as you can guess I said “yes” and fifteen years on I am still here with just as much excitement and enthusiasm as I had back then because I believe that children should have fun while they learn.
I can say this is the only job I have had which I loved because it is fun it is never boring and because each day is different and the children just make you happy to come to work.
I have been involved in the new and exciting developments that we have carried out recently in line with the new early years foundation stage, and it has been so much fun planning and developing a whole new environment for the children, what has also been fun is passing on our knowledge to other settings and practitioners in the form of exhibitions and workshops.
My main role within the group is planning and carrying out lots of new, different and exciting experiences for your children to participate in, but I also have the role of second key carer to your children, which in effect gives your children two key carers.
